For 2018, American Flat Track once again kicks off its series during Bike Week Daytona Beach on March 15 at the World Center of Racing – Daytona International Speedway – with a Bigger, Faster and Better TT race to be held in the famed Tri-Oval. The Chris Carr-designed track is wider, faster and way more exciting this year, with higher-speed corners and a larger jump to keep the action riveting.
In AFT Twins action, the 2018 Daytona TT will witness the resumption of the epic Harley-Davidson vs. Indian Motorcycle battle of 2017, with several other brands working to dethrone these two recent manufacturer champions. Indian factory pilot Jared Mees won Daytona last year, and went on to grab the 2017 AFT Twins title. Can he repeat? Will the Harleys and Kawasakis – or his own Indian teammates – be able to take him down?
The 2017 AFT Singles championship went down the wire, with Kolby Carlile snatching the championship over Brandon Price and Shayna Texter at the final round. Can Price or Texter (she won more races than anyone last year) mount another challenge to Carlile’s consistency? Or will it be someone new? The Daytona TT is sure to offer clues!
