Meet the Artist behind the 2017 Bike Week Logo

Official Bike Week Daytona Beach

This year's Official Bike Week logo was created by Graphic Artist Ben Miller of Print Art Screen Printing Inc., a Daytona Beach based company which specializes in providing apparel for major motorcycle rallies nationwide and online.

Ben has a solid background in art & design and has illustrated hundreds of motorcycle related t-shirt designs over the years for Print Art. This is his 3rd time winning the design competition for the Daytona Bike Week logo, designing the 2014 and 2015 logos as well, so he understands what the motorcycle community expects to see in terms of graphics art.

Motorcycling is one of America’s favorite pastimes, and knowing this, Ben uses tradition as the theme for this year's logo. The visuals were inspired by the origins of Daytona Bike Week: the original Daytona 200 motorcycle race of 1937, where vintage motorcycles pushed their limits on the hard packed sands of Daytona Beach. Extensive design research is essential to making a suitable logo, and by blending design cues from many different sources, Ben is able to create what he thinks would suit the likes of the Bike Week community.  Combining vintage elements, such as the vintage racer and color scheme, with modern design elements is representative of what Daytona Bike Week is all about, honoring tradition while enjoying the thrill of the moment.

Ben is thrilled to be the 2017 Bike Week logo designer, he calls it his “claim to fame”, and would say it is one of the highest honors of the motorcycle design community. Just knowing that hundreds of thousands of people will be seeing the fruit of his labor is an incredible feeling.

In the past, when Ben lived in Daytona Beach (he now resides in Indiana), he would attend Bike Week with his motorcycle and casually bring up in conversation with other attendees that he had designed the Official Logo because he loved to hear their responses, mainly “Wow, no kidding!”.

Print Art Screening Printing Inc. is privileged to be printing the Official Bike Week apparel this year and expects increased sales due to this great logo. You may find their website at: BikerLifeUSA.com
